New Year's Celebration

To reign in the new year, we went and visited Josh and Holly and their kids. 

Fondue, steak, fireworks, games, snacks, laughter.

It was joyful!

After dinner, we headed outside to do some fireworks. It was pretty chilly outside, so baby girl was getting in lots of cuddle time!

Cannon got a bit nervous with all the fireworks, so he opted to sit in the car and watch it from there.

Holly was our official sparkler lighter.

Josh had bought a ton of sparklers, and Holly was getting a little tired of lighting them one by one, so she came up with a brilliant plan.

(or so it seemed at the time.)

She decided to light an entire box of sparklers all at the same time. :)

She asked me if I could grab some and hand them out to the kids after they were lit.

Of course, I would love too!

She took the sparklers out of the box, positioned them in her hand and proceeded to light them.

A couple of them got lit, and then ALL of them got lit and Holly had a blazing fire in her hand!

What do I do while she is screaming, holding blazing sparklers?

I start laughing histarically and taking pictures.

Best Sister-In-Law award goes to me!

Thankfully she wasn't hurt too bad. She got a bit burned on her thumb, but she was a good sport about it.

That night, Josh, Holly, their two kids Adam and Emma, and Caleb and I played phase 10, which lasted so long it took us into the new year!

It was such a fun game with more than one time of laughing so hard we were all crying.

We had such a blast!

Someone finally won (I don't know even remember who…) and around 1:30 we all went to bed.

For New Year's Day we played more games, ate more food, and drove home.

This was definitely one of my favorite New Year's Eve/Day celebrations.
