Warbirds Over Monroe

November 8th

This was the kids and my first air show.

It was pretty awesome!

The kids were both asleep when we got there, so Caleb and I were able to enjoy a nice BBQ lunch in peace. Basically a mini date! Woohoo!

After lunch, we found a spot to sit and waited for the show to begin. (and for the kids to wake up.)

They had lots of old war vehicles and paraphernalia set up to look around at which was really neat. Whenever we go to places like these or celebrate those who have served our country, past and present, I always think of my Papaw. :)
He fought in World War II in a parachute infantry unit.
I sure do love and miss him!

And since we are going down memory lane, here is one of my favorite pictures of my Dad.
Bow tie. Purple checkered suit. Gotta love it!

 Back to the air show:

It's amazing what some of those planes can do!
(and it's really hard to capture it on camera! haha)

Yes, there was a girl attached to the outside of that plane.
YIKES!

Planes landing on trucks and cutting through some kind of rope.

We had lots of fun at our first family air show and we look forward to doing it again this year!
