And his favorite animal is...

Caleb had off work on Good Friday, so we were able to go down to Columbia, SC and help clean the temple in the morning and then go to the Columbia Zoo afterwards! (If you want to learn more about temples, go here).

The Zoo was awesome. It was so fun seeing Cannon go to the zoo for the first time! He was pretty excited and so were we :)

Our first stop was the Koala:

When Cannon saw him, he put his hand on his cheek and moved his head to the side like he was sleeping. It was super cute! I love seeing what his understanding is of things around him. He totally knows what is going on!

Then we came to the apes:

Cannon had a lot of fun watching them swing and play.

After the apes, we swung around to the baboons.

These were Cannon's favorite animals to watch. He could have stayed there for hours if we had let him.

Why was he so fascinated with these creatures, you ask??

The pink booties!!

Seriously.

He was obsessed with their pink booties.

He would turn around and point to his booty and just start talking and talking!

Telling Daddy about the pink booty monkey.
It was hilarious!

And it didn't stop there! He still talks about them, while pointing to his own booty :)

Because of his new found fascination with monkeys, he now knows how to do a monkey dance and talk like a monkey.

It's the best.

He also loved watching the elephants eat.

It is quite fascinating that they use their nose as their utensil. Cannon kept pinching his nose and then making a chomping noise :)
That kid cracks me up.

Here are some of the other animals we saw at the zoo:
We really love this zoo and are so excited to go back again!
Especially to see those pink booty monkeys!
And this guy, with his teeth....
